Signal Groove Jungle Section

Last year in January / February 2019, I was placed under section 3 of the Mental Health Act and detained and treated against consent at St Cadoc’s Hospital for about four months. I had spent the evening doing a re-edit of this drum and bass track: Wez G – Signal Groove. I had met a nice Iranian Jungle producer and DJ at Fabric in London for the Metalheadz Christmas Party event with Fabio, Grooverider and Doc Scott and this new friend had expressed an interest in signing Signal Groove to a decent Drum and Bass label. I just needed to rework it slightly and get it mastered. Gwent Police turned up at end of studio session prior to me being able to save the new edited files. I ripped up a great new version. They handcuffed me and banged in the van and dragged me off and then at the hospital threatened to shoot me next time they see me in public about which I have a current IPCC complaint going on. I lost my court appeal case and the Indian / Pakistani psychiatrist Dr Megheri, who treated me believed whole thing was a ‘Delusion of Grandeur’ Obviously there is now a delay on this project but I will rework the track again and hopefully the business offer will still be on the table and it can be put out there to the dancefloors where it belongs. Mental Health Social Stigma: Disability Hate Crime in Caldicot

I was first locked inside St Cadoc’s Hospital under Section of the Mental Health Act on 2nd April 1997. As horrific as experiences inside a mental hospital can be, one you are released back into the community things can be equally horrific if not more so. In the 22 years of non-consensual Mental Health treatment I have received for a misdiagnosed condition, I have never once disrupted or hurt and individual or group either in the community or inside the hospitals. I have a zero criminal record that I am very proud of. I can remember after a couple of months in hospital in 1997, finally getting out, and making a mad dash for the local pub. Before I went into hospital as a successful DJ and party promoter I had a very good standing in the community and a lot of respect. I loved my hometown of Caldicot with all my heart. As I walked into the Haywain for a much-needed pint, the place went silent. Everyone was just staring at me. You could hear a pin drop. Everyone, even those closest to you and even those who have always tried to treat me the same as they always have before and after 02.04.97, does treat you differently. I’ve learnt to deal with it in my own way over the years. The public perception of mental illness is really bizarre. I blame tabloids covering horror stories of schizophrenic knife attacks or banging on about famous Broadmoor prisoners such as the Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe. The facts are that a diagnosed schizophrenic is less likely to commit a violent crime than a member of the general public and they are more likely to be the victim of crime. Social stigma is a weird thing. As the years have progressed and the popularity of mental health has entered the mainstream, people are, in general, more accepting and less judgemental. However, you find it really strange talking to people. They sort of gaze at you, look through you and you can see their minds wandering off as you talk. They believe that anything that is emitted from your mouth is lunacy and insanity. You can’t strike up a sensible conversation with somebody who is doing this. They might interrupt and say the common phrase, ‘Oh, and how are you in yourself?’ I love that question – I just say ‘ well, it’s…

Low-Secure Punishment, Priory Group Private Sector Experiences, Ty Cwm Rhondda.

About 18 months ago I was sectioned yet again under Mental Health Act and sent up to Talygarn where yet again I was subjected to Dr Basu. I had been trying for 8 years in as diplomatic a way as possible to remove this vile man from my care. We had never seen eye to eye. I found him to be a racist Muslim who even had me banned from drinking alcohol in my local pub, The Castle Inn, Caldicot. His corruption knew no bounds and he constantly attacked me with treatment against consent giving me the maximum dose of Clopixol depot injection, in spite of medical proof demonstrating my allergy from several specialists including Gastroenterologists and Neurologists. Even the manufacturers of Clopixol, Lundbeck, after I raised used the yellow / red flag complaint system, had acknowledged that I should not under any circumstances be given this drug. I’d written on multiple occasions to Chief Executive of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Trust pleading for a change in medics. Basu carried on, revoking leave until I took this endofterror.org website down, Putting me in for long term care and proceeding with Clopixol depot injections. You meet the psychiatrist once a week in the mental hospital. Monday mornings was Basu’s ward round yet he was always at least 2-3 hours late. I was so frustrated and just had to find a way to get a change in consultant. He’d be openly racist to me as far as I was concerned as a White UK citizen so, wound up, I marched into the meeting and just said: “Look, you curry muncher, I’ve just had enough of you!” and walked back out. It’s not something I’m proud of and I’m not a racist but this was mild racism. My thinking was it would make him actually change the consultant. His partner, another Indian, filed a complaint along with Basu that I’d threatened to kill them and attacked them. He labelled me as a violent racist and I was immediately removed from Talygarn Acute Ward and transferred down to St. Cadoc’s in Caerleon to the PICU (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit) locked ward. Immediately I was put on fullscale meds as punishment. At the time on the ward a criminal patient from Caerphilly was causing loads of problems. He actually raped a young girl with Learning Difficulties. He got away with it and was actually…

Acuphase and Dr Jamil

To who this may concern, I did attempt to raise the issue of care provided regarding my last incarceration at St Cadocs adferiad ward by Dr Jamil in 2015, but i became sectioned again, this time in Stonebow Hereford because this whole issue of what happened the previous year annoyed me so much. When i was back at home in Hereford 2016, x2 people came and visited regarding my complaint who were nice and i received a letter but no apology issued and no faults found. I thought leave it for another day when I’m not so emotionally invested. Since then I done allot of calming down and done some research on the guidelines of usage when administering acuphase, these are clearly not being followed. In St Cadocs if you miss an appointment the police and your mum are called. Why stress out a mental patient in this way haunting them with police and family? After getting arrested and more stressed out in the process of being chased by police and my mum all day, i was put in a cell for missing an appointment and arrested for breach of the peace inside my own home for attempting to stop my mum and sister calling the police without speaking to me, in the station, sectioned and back to hospital. A couple of weeks in hospital I have a solicitor arranged and arrives for the tribunal in the afternoon, Dr Jamil removes my section in the morning and is happy because she doesn’t have to goto a tribunal now. I wanted to go to explain this situation I was placed under but this was denied. A couple of weeks pass , I’m at home and I express that I don’t want Dr Jamil as my psychiatrist anymore to the various CPN’s that visited. The response back was that they wanted to check me for a mental health assessment, I said that’s not an issue and pass my number over. A couple of day pass and I get called by someone who wanted to do a mental health assessment that day. I explained that I was currently busy, away and will have to be another time. A few more days pass and a Dr turns up late in the evening, on his own asking where are the others. He came in an I explained that he was the only visitor here atm….

Gwent Police and Senior Mental Health Managers Meeting

Mobile App World 2011

On 26/07/17 I wrote to Gwent Police and senior Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Trust Mental Health Nursing Manager, Perry Attwell.   Hi Perry and Gwent Police, I have been wanting to write to you, with regard to the current status of my detainment under section of the mental health act at my home address. I have been subjected to the mental health act since 2nd April 1997. I have never been violent towards the police nor mental health workers during the 20 years in which I have been treated. At present, I feel that there is an over-reaction to me when I am processed for sectioning under the mental health act. There are up to 50 police officers in my street during a sectioning and the whole process is very daunting both for myself and also the officers. I am transferred in the back of the police van like a common prisoner and feel that this aggravated my early stay in hospital. As I am never aggressive, I am asking you that, for any potential future assessments, we have a low key approach whereby, if necessary the police can attend in a single car and transfer me in the back of a car, humanely, and so that my mental health in the community is preserved for any potential hospital assessment. I feel that as things stand, with such a hullabaloo raised, it doesn’t assist me nor my local community in the whole process. These most recent hospitalizations have cost me my career at university and I am really struggling to rebuild my life. I am never going to be violent or troublesome and do not wish to be portrayed in a bad light in my neighborhood with a vast police presence and a seemingly violent capture ahead of any mental hospital admittances. Also, Perry Attwell has mentioned to me himself that he would be arranging for me to be transferred directly to Talygarn and not being sent to the processing unit at St Cadoc’s. I ask for a response to this letter as I wish to improve the oft fractured relations I have with this whole service as part of my processing under the Mental Health Act. Theresa May says that she wishes to improve Human Rights for mental patients and here I believe that, at grass roots, I am helping to do just that. Regards Wesley Gerrard…
