Remote Desert Runway

Remote Desert Runway

Lost in the sky, traversing the globe, a record box in the baggage hold high above you; an air steward whinges about the weight of your records and forces you to shift your hand luggage to a safer place. While you’re getting a ticking off from some jumped up trolley dolly the moved weight of a damn heavy UDG bag tilts the plane and the pilot comes running down the aisle and gives the jumped up service shark a good telling off, as by shifting the DJ’s luggage, he has tilted the plane off course…. All we can hope for now is an emergency landing patch to develop…. deep in the desert the pilot spots a Remote Desert Runway and all are safe and sound as the plane touches down back onto Mother Earth. Last.fm

#

Last.fm I’m going to have a whinge here about the general lack of support the dance music industry seems to give this amazing site… Last.fm has been around for quite a few years… It is the most amazing site for people who listen to music and also for artists. We’ve witnessed the rise of Spotify, Soundcloud, Reverbnation, Podomatic, Mixcloud, Play.fm and many other music sites in recent years. Last.fm has been ticking along all the time while this has been going on.  It is the most amazing site for discovering new music. It has an excellent tagging system and when you download the scrobbler which supports a lot of players, you can keep a record of your own listening history.  It keeps stats and wiki info on artists that you simply won’t get anywhere else. It is fully interactive with a social network dimension where you meet genuine friends based on music tastes. There is a journal system and groups. It is an amazing site for artists which, even if you don’t scrobble particularly well – with decent journals and links you will ping around search engines across the world.  As a music listener and artist’s resource it is second to none. It is mainly free though you can subscribe to some additional features for a nominal monthly sum. It is also app friendly with its own radio app. The radio feature is the highlight and I’ll leave that to non-users as a surprise – but this is where you discover the site’s database’s true power and make new music discoveries. I fully endorse last.fm and I just cannot comprehend why more people don’t use it. (The above link is to my user account which you get yourself on signup )

NEW – WEZ G NEWS

I have set up this wordpress blog for a number of reasons… Firstly there is a possibility that I will convert the main http://djwezg.com website over to a pure wordpress style layout… So I want to give it a good test. And secondly – I need a unique news feed for the new Wez G Iphone / Ipad app that will be released in mid May. This will be where news and content for the app comes from. There will be lots of other features also. There are also other sites that I use regularly to share information. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Blogger and Podomatic all have their uses in today’s hi-tech digital world. All can be seen plus a lot more on the main website http://djwezg.com I shall endeavour to keep you posted with interesting items from the Perpetual World of Delight that is Shuffle…. Wez G
