SHUFFLE PROMOTIONS LTD, A Delusion of Grandeur and therefore a symptom of schizophrenia

SHUFFLE PROMOTIONS LTD

In 2001 I set up a permanent Shuffle DJ Academy business and a base for my DJing and Promoting in Caldicot, on the Industrial Estate, hiring a 300 sq foot office space / warehouse from Monmouthshire County Council. With regular gigs running preclub bar in Cast, Bristol fro the big Scream event and attached work, I had plenty of DJing to get on with. The bulk of the work I was doing was via Arts Council Wales for Newport Arts Council and Monmouthshire Youth Services. I was mainly out on the road in youth clubs and community centres teaching adults, children, the disabled, homeless, deaf children, Council workers, Duke Of Edinburgh Award scheme youngsters, youth offenders and the general public. I was also printing and designing flyers for a variety of businesses and retailing DJ equipment. I was recruited to run a big Community Festival in Duffryn, Newport, a poverty-stricken community. Also, I did voluntary work running Arts workshops for the Disabled in YMCA, Pillgwenlly. As the business expanded I was dabbling more and more in the web for future music and work and also attending studio production courses at Immtech in Cardiff under the tutelage of Lenny from The Nightcrawlers. I had plans to move down to Cardiff with the business after being offered free office space in Cardiff Bay by PROMO CYMRU. I had various guest DJ gigs on and launched a series of 3 large club events across Cardiff (Emporium), Bristol (The Level) and London – The Clinic, Chinatown. I was going to industry events such as PLASA in London and networking well and developing good professional business. The Mental Services had agreed that I would be permanently taken off their books. I received support from The Prince’s Trust Charity and had an advisor from them assisting me. Gwent Police, who I was working alpngside in certain events such as Duffryn Community Festival were, however, continuing their ongoing 24 year investigation into my business, which had started when I first launched events as a DJ / Promoter back in 1995. I turned the company into a LTD venture due to the enhanced tax incentives introduced by Labour Government and Shuffle Promotions LTD was born. I couldn’t get professional music insurance and contents insurance for my office. I slept in the office at times to protect equipment and as I was working 20 hour days 7 days a…

Invasion of Privacy – Social Media and Internet Monitoring in Mental Hospitals

Facebook

I’ve been in the harder end of the UK Mental Health System for 22.5 years now. In those years I’ve been noticing a more and more restrictive approach to the way in which prisoners inside are treated. With the rise of internet and mobile phone technology and the advent of such popular inventions such as social media, there have been changes within the fascist totalitarian regime for ‘patients’. Not only do you lose all rights to your own body with such legislation that involved #treatmentagainstconsent you can also pretty much wave goodbye to any possessions that you may be used to relying on in the outside world. In the acute wards you can have access to a mobile phone, but it is at staff discretion. The staff will have their friends on the outside stalking you on social media to report back to the nurses and doctors if you do anything on it that they deem ‘illegal’. You have to be in bed at midnight and often the only way to charge your phone as you are banned from having chargers, is to hand your phone in to staff. They will hack and damage your phone. Often due to malice. I’ve lost about 3 or 4 mobiles in this way.In the lock up wards of PICU or low secure which I have also tried, there is no access at all to communications. The obsession of the dictator psychiatrists to control every aspect of society is quite extreme. I have worked as a social media manager for KryKey ( http://www.KryKey.com ) for 11 years. It is difficult inside nuthouses continuing your work. I also rely heavily on social media to stay in touch internationally with the global artists that I manage in music for http://shuffleartistmanagement.com – And the burgeoning #translation business is also reliant on web contact with clients and fellow global linguists. http://dragontranslate.com In Talygarn when they began their policing of social media, I had a ten minute window per day where I was allowed my mobile phone to use for calls and social media etc. This was to be policed by a member of staff. If I did anything that they regarded as mental illness I had this time suspended and phone removed for a week or two until Dr Basu gave his consent for me to get back the 10 minute window. He denied me any leave from…

Landlocked – Mental Health in the UK and the Prevention of International Travel, Translation and Foreign Language Education

air new zealand

On the Second of April 1997, at the point of my first contact with the Mental Health Act, I had my life’s dreams shattered. On that day, my parents had been persuaded to take me to see a psychiatrist at the local mental hospital, St Cadoc’s in Caerleon. I hadn’t wanted to attend the meeting at all as I didn’t have any health issues. However, I was forced by my family to go. I spoke with a psychiatrist, a social worker and a GP and they told me that I couldn’t leave the hospital and that I had been placed under Section 2 of the Mental Health Act 1983, a piece of UK government legislation that I had never heard of at all and that I knew nothing about. I was given a bit of paper which told me ‘my rights’ all of which are lies. I had to stay in the hospital for 28 days. I said I can’t do that as I am a university student at University College London (UCL) and also have several business commitments in the Music Industry for my DJing where I have a night at the Ministry of Sound arranged. They said that it was necessary for me to be treated (against my consent) and that afterwards I would be free to get on with my life.   I won’t go into the details of what happened to me medically during this time as that is not the subject of this article but eventually I spent between 2 and 3 months locked in Isca Ward, St Cadoc’s, before I was released into the community. The misdiagnosed condition (schizophrenia) which I knew from the start that I didn’t have at all has led to a pursuance by this mental health system of me as an individual for over 22 years. I never got to complete my UCL studies and had my music career as a DJ (Wez G) seriously ruined. The End Of Terror website is a solution that I devised to fight my corner in what is in essence a war between myself and elements of the British State.   At the point of realising on 02.04.97, that I wasn’t going to be able to get away from this hospital I had a serious think of the impact it would have on my life. The immediate work and study could be dealt with…

Low-Secure Punishment, Priory Group Private Sector Experiences, Ty Cwm Rhondda.

ty cwm rhondda

About 18 months ago I was sectioned yet again under Mental Health Act and sent up to Talygarn where yet again I was subjected to Dr Basu. I had been trying for 8 years in as diplomatic a way as possible to remove this vile man from my care. We had never seen eye to eye. I found him to be a racist Muslim who even had me banned from drinking alcohol in my local pub, The Castle Inn, Caldicot. His corruption knew no bounds and he constantly attacked me with treatment against consent giving me the maximum dose of Clopixol depot injection, in spite of medical proof demonstrating my allergy from several specialists including Gastroenterologists and Neurologists. Even the manufacturers of Clopixol, Lundbeck, after I raised used the yellow / red flag complaint system, had acknowledged that I should not under any circumstances be given this drug. I’d written on multiple occasions to Chief Executive of Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Trust pleading for a change in medics. Basu carried on, revoking leave until I took this endofterror.org website down, Putting me in for long term care and proceeding with Clopixol depot injections. You meet the psychiatrist once a week in the mental hospital. Monday mornings was Basu’s ward round yet he was always at least 2-3 hours late. I was so frustrated and just had to find a way to get a change in consultant. He’d be openly racist to me as far as I was concerned as a White UK citizen so, wound up, I marched into the meeting and just said: “Look, you curry muncher, I’ve just had enough of you!” and walked back out. It’s not something I’m proud of and I’m not a racist but this was mild racism. My thinking was it would make him actually change the consultant. His partner, another Indian, filed a complaint along with Basu that I’d threatened to kill them and attacked them. He labelled me as a violent racist and I was immediately removed from Talygarn Acute Ward and transferred down to St. Cadoc’s in Caerleon to the PICU (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit) locked ward. Immediately I was put on fullscale meds as punishment. At the time on the ward a criminal patient from Caerphilly was causing loads of problems. He actually raped a young girl with Learning Difficulties. He got away with it and was actually…

Gwent Police and Senior Mental Health Managers Meeting

gwent police hq

On 26/07/17 I wrote to Gwent Police and senior Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Trust Mental Health Nursing Manager, Perry Attwell.   Hi Perry and Gwent Police, I have been wanting to write to you, with regard to the current status of my detainment under section of the mental health act at my home address. I have been subjected to the mental health act since 2nd April 1997. I have never been violent towards the police nor mental health workers during the 20 years in which I have been treated. At present, I feel that there is an over-reaction to me when I am processed for sectioning under the mental health act. There are up to 50 police officers in my street during a sectioning and the whole process is very daunting both for myself and also the officers. I am transferred in the back of the police van like a common prisoner and feel that this aggravated my early stay in hospital. As I am never aggressive, I am asking you that, for any potential future assessments, we have a low key approach whereby, if necessary the police can attend in a single car and transfer me in the back of a car, humanely, and so that my mental health in the community is preserved for any potential hospital assessment. I feel that as things stand, with such a hullabaloo raised, it doesn’t assist me nor my local community in the whole process. These most recent hospitalizations have cost me my career at university and I am really struggling to rebuild my life. I am never going to be violent or troublesome and do not wish to be portrayed in a bad light in my neighborhood with a vast police presence and a seemingly violent capture ahead of any mental hospital admittances. Also, Perry Attwell has mentioned to me himself that he would be arranging for me to be transferred directly to Talygarn and not being sent to the processing unit at St Cadoc’s. I ask for a response to this letter as I wish to improve the oft fractured relations I have with this whole service as part of my processing under the Mental Health Act. Theresa May says that she wishes to improve Human Rights for mental patients and here I believe that, at grass roots, I am helping to do just that. Regards Wesley Gerrard…

Emotional Support Animal Registry UK

Emotional Support Animal Registry UK

My friend has just started an organisation that might be useful for mental health sufferers in the UK. His service will register your small pet as an ‘Emotional Support Animal’ enabling you to take your pet with you into places that they would not normally be allowed – eg. supermarket, planes, buses. Feel free to check it out http://esaorguk.com
